How big is your baby? About the size of a large banana — and speaking of bananas, if you eat one this week, there's a good chance your baby will get a taste, too. That's because he swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so he eats whatever's on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use. So go ahead and nosh on those nachos (or crunch those crudités): Your baby may develop a taste for them when he’s older.
I can’t believe you are 21 weeks already! It seems like the past few months have gone by so fast. Every week your kicks get stronger and stronger. Last week we even saw your kicking my belly! Daddy found this video of a pregnant woman and it looked like an alien was moving around inside her. It made me kind of nervous because I have a feeling you are going to be just like that! Daddy said he can’t wait until he can see you moving all around in there. You did give us a little scare the other night. I could not remember the last time I felt you kick. You usually kick around at night, and I did not feel a thing. I laid still for over an hour and FINALLY I felt you move. I think you gave daddy a little heart attack! You are quite the mover and shaker, so when I don’t feel you for a while it makes me very nervous. Daddy hates when I get nervous because he doesn’t want me to stress you out. Between your daddy and your Aunt Codie there is always someone telling me not to stress and to make sure I am eating healthy. Now that you can taste everything I eat, I am making sure I get my share of fruits and veggies! I want you to be a healthy and happy baby.
