It's time B!

Dear Brayden-
Please come out today. I know you're waiting for your aunt codie to finish your blanket, but I promise to finish it the quickest I can. I've been working on it like crazy trying to finish it because I'm convinced that's what you are waiting on. If you do wait till I'm all done (which I hope you dont because I still have a bit more to go), your mommy will kill me for taking this long. Did you know I started this blanket the day I found out your mommy was pregnant with you? I was the first person your mommy and daddy told. When your mommy called to tell me she didnt even get a chance to say "we're pregnant" because I guessed it just off of the tone in her voice. She was so happy that I knew it could only be one thing, you.
I PROMISE I will get this finished for you as fast as I can. Just don't feel like you need to wait on me, we are all getting way too anxious to see and hold you.
LOVE YOU B!

Ready and waiting...

I know you are only 35 weeks and not quite ready to come out. But if you decide you want to come early, it would make me so happy! I love being pregnant, it has really been a great experience. I haven’t had too many complications and I feel like so far everything has been pretty easy. But things change every day. I am not complaining, but you sure do move a lot! You move so much that I can’t fall asleep at night and sometimes you wake me up in the middle of the night and won’t let me go back to sleep. I guess you are just getting me ready for what my life is going to be like in a few weeks. I use to love feeling you move all the time, but I will be honest, now I am a little scared of it. You kick so hard! You kicked me the other night so hard that it made me cry. Then to top things off I have been getting heartburn like crazy. I have never had heartburn before and now I have it every day. So between you and the heartburn, I feel like I am barley sleeping anymore. Last night I woke up about 8 times to pee, then was up from 2 until your daddy woke up for work this morning at 5. He always asks me what I am doing when he gets up and I am just sitting in bed playing a game on my phone. I get so bored in the middle of the night. Good thing aunt Codie is coming soon. Maybe I can go visit her bedroom at around 3am when I can’t sleep. It will be so nice to have her here. I have been scared that I am going to start going into labor and daddy is going to be at work. I know it doesn’t take him long to get home, but that 20 minutes alone is enough to scare me. Besides I need some help finishing things in your room and getting everything perfect for when you decide to come home. I told aunt Codie that we need to make sure we are giving Riley a bath every week. I don’t want you to meet your new sister when she is all stinky. I would like her to be clean and smelling like a rose! I also told daddy that I want to make sure the sheets are washed and the house is clean when we get back. He said he would make sure that when we got home from the hospital that the sheets are fresh and clean. I told him that when I go into labor I am going to give everyone jobs. Daddy is going to vacuum, Codie is going to mop, and mommy is going to shower and get herself ready. Then we will all make sure laundry is started and things are in their place. I can picture it now, but I have a feeling it’s going to go nothing like that! It’s more like I am going to be in pain and freaking out and they are going to be crowded around me trying to figure out how to make me feel better. However it happens will be fine just as long we I know you are finally on your way! I am getting so excited to finally meet you. I wonder what you will look like. I wonder how big you are going to be. I wonder if daddy is going to cry when he first sees you. I know I will be crying. I can barley even look at a baby right now without bursting into tears. I am just so excited for you and can’t wait until I get to hold you in my arms.

35 weeks!

Look at you, already 35 weeks!
not too long till I'll be pinching your cheeks!
Your mama says you've been kicking really hard
Before you pop out I'm gonna have to strap up with a body guard
We decided you'll be the worlds strongest baby
be rich and famous, a pro-athlete maybe?
Yesterday I decided I'll win you over by making you yummy crepes,
I'll fill them however you want, chocolate, bananas, even grapes!
You're already a spoiled little dude,
you'll be so handsome and have all the little girls wooed.

Thinking about you..

I am sitting in your room right now just hanging out. Daddy moved the chair from the living room in here because this is now my favorite room in the house. It is just so comfortable to me. We had our birthing class today. A lot of the things we talked about in class we already had read about it the books, but we still learned a lot. The best part about class was when daddy had to give me a massage! We also got to take a tour of the hospital and see the room in which we will first get to meet you. It really made it real to me. While we were walking around on the labor and delivery floor I started to get really nervous. Then we peeked our heads into the nursery and saw the cutest little babies. I realized that even though I am scared to death it will all be worth it when I get to see your sweet little face. We made sure to pre-register at the hospital, so whenever you are ready to make your appearance we are all set. Now if only mommy could get your room at home organized and ready for you. There is still so much we have to do in here. I am slowly getting it all done. I know we still have a little while, but it seems like lately the weeks have been going by so fast. We had our Dr. appoint this past Friday and we got to see you again! Normally they don’t do it at this appointment, but I told her it was driving me crazy that I couldn’t figure out what position you were in. Your head is down where it’s supposed to be and your little back is all curled up on the left side of my belly. Then you little legs extend across and your little feet are all pressed up in my ribs… just like I thought. You have always been an active baby and I don’t think you have slowed down one bit. I always feel you kicking me in my ribs. Sometimes you kick me so hard it wakes me up out of a dead sleep. Everything else at our appointment went great. I am gaining the weight on track, BP is great, iron is good, and so far I haven’t had too many problems. I did develop a rash, which they think is Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy (PUPPS.) It is a rash that affects approximately one out of every two hundred pregnancies. It isn’t harmful for me or for you, but it is miserable. It constantly itches, and I mean to the point where I didn’t sleep for 3 days! Finally at my appointment I got a prescription for a steroid cream, which really seems to help. Last night was the first time I was actually able to sleep. I even ended up taking Bendryl before bed, which I normally don’t take any medications at all, but I had to. The night before I had a major breakdown and just started hysterically crying. The only think I wanted to do was sleep and I couldn’t. I couldn’t even get comfortable just laying there. I had to keep putting icepacks on my belly because it was the only thing that seemed to make it any better. I wish this rash would just go away, but unfortunately they say it could last until after I give birth. But just as long as you are happy and healthy I am willing to deal with these minor issues. Ok, well I am going to go hang out with daddy and riley now. We all love you so much and can’t wait until we get to meet you. I love you B.

33 Weeks!

Only 7 more until you are here! It’s so crazy to think about. I am starting to get ready for you to get here. I have been thinking about all the food I am going to make and freeze so that way daddy can make us meals! I have also been making sure he knows how to put together some simple recipes. For the most part daddy is good at cooking… when he wants to. He made me French toast before that was out of this world! We have always been getting the finishing touches on your room done. We went out and bought baskets for your bookshelf to keep all your toys in, and we hung the airplane pictures above your crib, and we bought a TV with WiFi! Mommy is so excited about the new TV.  It lets me do all sorts of fun things. I can go on facebook, check the weather, play your music, watch Netflix, check out my mommy manual, and download all sorts of fun applications. I never knew a TV could do so many things. Last night we pulled the chair from the living room into your room and just sat in there and watched TV. Your room is just so relaxing and nice to be in. It really is the perfect nursery. It is looking more and more like what I always pictured for you. Your daddy loves it too. How could he not?! It’s full of airplanes. Your room reminds me so much of your daddy. He really took the time the pick out each airplane picture that is hanging on your wall. He also found the perfect mobile for your room. Pretty much we are obsessed with your room and just go hang out in there all the time. We can’t wait for you to see it.
We have our next Dr. appointment tomorrow, and it will be perfect timing because mommy is in some serious pain. I haven’t been able to sleep in two days because I have a terrible itchy rash on my belly. Hopefully they will be able to tell me what it is tomorrow and give me something to help with the itching. Then after our OB appointment we get to meet with your pediatrician! Mommy and daddy wanted to make sure we picked the right doctor for you, so we set up an interview with him. Hopefully we like him, I have heard great things about him and my OB said he is a great Dr. Then on Saturday we have our birthing class! All day, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are going to learn so much. I know daddy isn’t really excited about going, but I think it will make it more real. I can’t wait to take a tour of the hospital. I am getting very anxious about everything. I will keep you posted on Sunday to let you know how everything went!

32 weeks

32 weeks! Wow, I can’t believe that much time has gone by already. Let’s see what you are up to this week B. You are now about 19 inches from head to toe, and weigh almost 4 pounds. You are a growing boy and running out of room in there. You should be in head down position by now, but I just can’t really figure it out. You seem to move all the time and me and daddy try to figure out what little body part we are feeling. I know your feet have to be up in my rib cage because I can feel you kicking me all the time. It seems to help when we go swimming because it lets my belly stretch out.  We have been swimming a lot lately, it is really the only exercise we can do. It has been so hot outside that walking is impossible. Daddy hates swimming, but he still goes down there with me and reads a magazine while I swim laps. I just want to make sure you are happy and healthy in there. I have been trying to eat right and gain weight on track. At our last doctors appoint we had gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks! Mommy was not happy about that. I decided I needed to lay off the sweets at night. Now we only have ice cream a couple times a week instead of every night! People always ask me what kind of food cravings I have, but really I don’t think I have any. I eat pretty much all of the same things I did before. Other than being short of breath, backaches, and tired all the time I think I haven’t had it too bad. I say that now, but each week something seems to change. Alright, well I need to get dinner ready before daddy gets home from work. We love you B!

May 18th 2007

B. One more thing I wanted to tell you about. Today 4 years ago, May 18th 2007, daddy sunk a boat out in the ocean. We are so lucky that the sea decided to spit him back out. We will always remember this day and will always be thankful that we still have him here with us. Your daddy is always getting into some kind of trouble... that's why I worry so much about you. If you are anything like your daddy, I know I am going to worry for the rest of my life. The two of you will keep me on my toes. I am sure when you are older your daddy will tell you all about the many life changing moments he had. I know that this moment is one he will never forget, and it is something that made him realize to appreciate every day he is given.

It's been a while..

B. I haven’t been keeping up on this blog thing like I should. There are so many things that are running through my mind lately. We have about 62 days until you get here, and there is so much that I still need to get done. I haven’t even started organizing your room yet. Every time I walk by your room I just get stressed out. I made daddy go with me to babies’r’us the other day to get diapers… and then about $200 worth of other baby things! There are so many things that I still want to get you and so much that I still need to do in order to make this house feel ready for the big day. I look in your closet and realize that I haven’t even started your laundry yet. There are toys and items still in boxes, things stuck in drawers, and nothing is in its place. I am waiting on my chair and your curtain. I need to finish painting the closet where daddy patched things up.  Daddy needs to run the cables and set up the TV in your room. We are still waiting on your airplane pictures from pottery barn, and we can’t hang your mobile until the pictures are in! ahh.. just reading all this makes me feel stressed. I made a list the other day of all the things I still need to get before you decide to make your appearance… mommy wants to make sure you have everything you need and more B. I just can’t wait until I am sit in your room and know that it’s ready and waiting for you. You would be really impressed by how well Riley is doing with not touching your things. I thought for sure she would be messing at all the new stuff in your room, but she doesn’t. I think she knows that all those things are yours. Lately, you have been causing me a lot of pain. You like to kick me in my ribs, but its ok B I understand that you are running out of room in there. You are a growing boy and mommy’s belly is only so big (for now), I just wish sometimes you wouldn’t kick me so hard. It has also been hard for me to breathe lately. Doing one simple thing around the house and I am out of breath. Before I never really felt “pregnant”, but I am beginning to really understand it now. Daddy has to help me up sometimes because I don’t think I can do it on my own anymore. It seems like every day my body is changing and you are getting bigger. I just can’t believe we are already at 31 weeks.  Did you know aunt Codie is leaving for Paris next week!? Mommy is so freaked out by that. I am trying not to think about it. Daddy thinks I am being crazy about it but I keep thinking about not being able to get a hold of her if I need her. She says she will have skype…but I am not convinced she will keep in touch with us enough. I am sure she will be having too much fun to worry about checking in with us. But after her trip to Pairs she will be coming down here to get ready for you! It makes me feel better to know that she will be here in case something happens while daddy is at work. Alright, I am going to try to get things done around here. Hopefully I don’t get too tired! I love you B.

Michigan Shower!

Oh Brayden… this weekend was your baby shower in Michigan at Nana and Papa’s house. It was so much fun! Everyone worked so hard to make sure that everything was perfect. The airplane cupcakes were one of my favorite things (I’m sure you liked them too!). So many people came to celebrate you, your Mema and Pop-Pop even flew in from Maryland to join in the fun! You are already so loved by so many different people. Everyone is excited to finally get to meet you, and you are going to love all of the amazing this people gave you. Aunt Codie made you a beautiful box for your room, I think that was daddy’s favorite gift. Aunt Codie also made you your very first CD. Mommy and daddy played it in the car today, and your mommy broke down in tears! You also got so many beautiful hand-made blankets. You are really spoiled rotten. You put on quite the little show for people at the baby shower. They got to see you kicking and moving all around. It was really a wonderful baby shower. I wish we got to stay up in Michigan a little longer, but next time we visit you will be here! I can’t believe we only have two and a half months to go. Next weekend we will be headed up to Maryland for another baby shower, we are really looking forward to it. I love you Brayden Theodore Rantz.

BABY SHOWER

Hey Brayden!
Today was your babyshower at Nana and Papa's house in Michigan. All 4 of your grandparents were there to celebrate! You had a pretty big turn out and got a lot of neat gifts! Spoiled rotten might become your new nickname!! I will post some pictures of the shower later to show off how good it turned out!
Your mommy told me that your eyes are open now and you can see light... we took a flashlight and put it on her belly. Its a good way to find out where your head is because as soon as that light hits your eyes you kick like crazy! (some people might call that fetal abuse... but i think you like it)
Next week you have another babyshower in Maryland! You will have so many toys and clothes that you wont know what to do with them all!!
I love you B and i'm so glad I got to see you this weekend! You keep getting bigger and bigger and kick harder and harder!

Almost there!

Happy 28 weeks Brayden! Welcome to the third trimester. It’s hard to believe that the first two have
gone by so fast. Hopefully this one will go by fast too… Let’s see what you are up too this week
Your baby is settling into the proper position for birth, with his head facing downward (toward your body's nearest exit!). Your little work in progress is now about 2.5 pounds and almost 16 inches long. He's busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive repertoire of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, and taking practice breaths. Your baby's sleep now includes the REM (rapid eye movement) phase — and that means he could be dreaming already”
What could you be dreaming about already? And when exactly are you sleeping, because I swear you move all the time! Although, last night I may have discovered a new trick. You love music, so last night went I went to bed I put my bellybuds on and let you listen to some music. At first you were just dancing around, but then it calmed you down and I think you must have gone to sleep. I hope this trick keeps working because mommy needs her rest these next couple of weeks.  We have a lot to do in the next few weeks. Our first baby shower is this weekend. I am excited to go home and see everyone. I am sure it will be a shock on how big you have grown since the last time everyone saw me.  And I can’t wait for everyone to see you kicking and moving around in there. It always makes me smile to see you moving around. Then the weekend after this baby shower in Michigan we have another baby shower in your daddy’s hometown! That means we get to see our favorite cousin Savannah again! She loves just talking and talking, I am sure you heard her this past weekend. We are excited to head to Maryland, but mommy isn’t too excited about the car ride there. The weekend after we are in Maryland your mommy and daddy will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary. It hard to believe so much has happened in just one year. A lot has changed, and the best part about the past year has been you. It makes me happy to know that we are brining you into a world that is filled with so much love. I am sure by now you know that we love you more than anything in the world and we cannot wait to hold you in our arms. Your daddy tells me everyday how excited he is to hold his little boy. He is going to be the best daddy. I watched him with your cousin this past weekend, and I could tell by the way he looks at her that he is going to be an amazing father. He loves that little girl so much. You are really a lucky little boy to be coming into such an amazing family. You have the best grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousin (only 1 for now!).  I can’t wait for you to meet them all!

Nursery!

I am so happy that the big stuff is done! We worked so hard getting your room ready for you this past week. Nana even flew down to help! You are already one spoiled rotten little boy. Your dad is so proud of the wainscoting on the walls. I know you may not appreciate it when you first get here, but one day you will realize how many long hours went into making everything perfect for you. We also picked up your furniture this week. It was better than Christmas! I LOVE it so much. Nana and daddy set each piece up while I just sat there and watched! There are still a few more things that we need to get done, but all the of the major stuff is now out of the way. I am just waiting for the pictures to come in to hang above your crib and the rest of your bedding. I also need to order a chair and get curtains made. I am going to pick out the fabric next time I am back in Michigan, which will be in a couple weeks! Its amazing how fast the past few months have gone by. Putting together your nursery this week made everything a little more real to us. What use to be our guest room is now the perfect room for our little boy. When I walk by your room it now hits me that it really is your room. Sometimes we just go sit on the floor in your room and look around at all your new things. The only one who isn't really use to the change yet is Riley. That use to be her favorite room to sleep in... but now she has no bed to sleep in! I think I am going to get her a bed to put next to yours so she can sleep in there with you. I just know she is going to love you so much and want to be by you every second of the day.

Week 25!

Happy 25 Weeks B! You are now 13 ½ inches and weight a pound and a half. It is amazing how much you have grown in the past couple weeks. You really are kicking up a storm lately. Sometimes we just watch my belly move all around. It’s amazing to see you move from one side to the other. You are going to be one active little boy. I think mommy is going to have her hands full with you! This past weekend your dad and I worked on your nursery. We are not anywhere near done yet, but it’s really coming along. We are doing an airplane theme room (but not overly cheesy airplanes don’t worry!). We painted the walls tan and put up wainscoting. You dad is such a handyman. I hope he teaches you all his little building tricks. He did the wainscoting on his own and it looks amazing! It turned out even better than I could imagine. I always wanted wainscoting in a nursery, and thanks to your dad now I do! I really think you are going to love your room B. Nana is flying in on Friday to help us finish up painting the wainscoting and setting up your furniture. I am so excited to get your furniture in there. It has been in forever, but we just haven’t had the time to go pick it up. The bedding I ordered should be in next week, but the vintage airplane pictures won’t be here until May! I just want everything to hurry up and come together. We still have to pick out a few things, but hopefully we can get it all done soon. I can’t wait to upload pictures for everyone to see!!

Crusin!

Last week we went on a cruise to the Caribbean with your Aunt Emily, Uncle Ryan, and big cousin Savannah. It was so nice to get away and relax all week.  I had fun just laying in the sun and your dad is addicted to the flowrider. He wants to teach you how to surf. He already has the board picked out that he is going to teach you on. I can’t wait until you are here and we get to go on a big family vacation with you. I want you to get to see everything this world has to offer. Daddy always talks about all the places we are going to take you and all the things we are going to do. We had so much fun with your cousin Savannah on the cruise. It was her first big trip and she is amazing! She is going to be the best big cousin ever. I hope you love the water as much as she does. I know you may be a year younger than her, but you are still going to have to protect her from all the boys when she gets older! She is going to be gorgeous, just like her mommy, which means you are going to have to keep all the boys away from her! Seeing her smile every day made me more and more excited about meeting you. We are already so in love with you, but I know that when I get to see your face for the first time I am going to love your more than I could have ever imagined.  You are 24 weeks today and kicking like crazy all the time. I swear you love music. Whenever we went to shows on the cruise you would dance along to the music. At night your daddy and I just sit there and watch my belly move. You sure are an active little guy. Now that we are home from vacation we are working hard at getting your room put together. We moved out all the furniture last night and we are going to start painting this weekend! I am so excited for it to get done. I really think you are going to love it! I will post some pictures of our progress next week!

21 Weeks!

How big is your baby? About the size of a large banana — and speaking of bananas, if you eat one this week, there's a good chance your baby will get a taste, too. That's because he swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so he eats whatever's on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use. So go ahead and nosh on those nachos (or crunch those crudités): Your baby may develop a taste for them when he’s older.

I can’t believe you are 21 weeks already! It seems like the past few months have gone by so fast. Every week your kicks get stronger and stronger. Last week we even saw your kicking my belly! Daddy found this video of a pregnant woman and it looked like an alien was moving around inside her. It made me kind of nervous because I have a feeling you are going to be just like that! Daddy said he can’t wait until he can see you moving all around in there. You did give us a little scare the other night. I could not remember the last time I felt you kick. You usually kick around at night, and I did not feel a thing. I laid still for over an hour and FINALLY I felt you move. I think you gave daddy a little heart attack! You are quite the mover and shaker, so when I don’t feel you for a while it makes me very nervous. Daddy hates when I get nervous because he doesn’t want me to stress you out. Between your daddy and your Aunt Codie there is always someone telling me not to stress and to make sure I am eating healthy. Now that you can taste everything I eat, I am making sure I get my share of fruits and veggies! I want you to be a healthy and happy baby.

Hi Little Grandson

We were so excited when we found out you are a boy. Just to think that we will have a granddaughter and now a grandson. It is great to know that the Rantz name will be carried on. Your Aunt Emily and Uncle Ryan have a chance to do that as well. Please understand that even if you had been a girl that we would have loved you just as much. Since we found out that you are a boy we have picked up a couple of boy things. It will be fun shopping for you! We love you! We pray that you will come into this world healthy and have a wonderful life! Love MeMa and PopPop

Oh boy!

I have been working so hard trying to figure out your nursery! Your daddy really needs to get working because mommy has a lot of plans in there. One thing I would like to see done is a closet system.  Your daddy helped put together a beautiful closet for your cousin Savannah! Now we want him to do the same here. Another project we have lined up for your nursery is wainscoting. I think we may have daddy and Uncle Josh put that up next weekend (they don’t know about this plan yet). The problem I am having is that I had everything picked out for a little girl, and nothing decided for a little boy! But I am starting to get things figured out… hopefully I decide on the bedding before your furniture comes in at the end of the month. Then we will have to get papa to make some things for us! He may not want to at first… but in the end he always does it. A little secret about your papa is that he is easy to wrap around your little finger! Mommy has been doing it for the past 24 years and it still works!

From Your Big Cousin

My Mommy and Daddy were so excited to tell me that you are a boy! I can't wait to feel you kick when we go on the cruise together next month. I am looking forward to seeing your Mommy and Daddy. I miss them. My Mommy told me that you are a very lucky baby, because you are blessed with two loving parents. I can tell you one thing about them--they give great hugs and kisses! I can't wait until you are born. We are going to have so much fun together. I'll teach you some things...you know, since I am your big cousin and all. I can give you lots of tips on how to get your way. Because I always do! I wish we lived closer, but Mommy and Daddy said we are going to visit you a lot...especially when you are very little. My Daddy and your Daddy will teach you how to play soccer. I hear you already have some great kicking skills!
I love you!
Love,
Savannah

Our first touch/ more like touchdown

We picked up your parents at the airport in Colorado to attend cousin Marys wedding. All along I thought your parents were having a baby girl. When I saw your mother at the airport just one look and I new you were going to be a boy. Then Codie on the way to the Condo not only felt you kick once but three times. When it was my turn, nothing could have prepared me for what I felt next. You kicked so hard that you actually hurt my hand. You definitely should play soccer like your daddy, uncle Ryan, and Aunt Codie. Hockey also would be pretty cool, your uncle Josh would be in heaven if you ended up playing hockey. You obviously are active enough and may need a outlet with sports. The next day papa was able to feel you kick which blew him away. However it was the coolest to see uncle Josh and his expression when he got to feel his nephew kick for the first. Your parents faces looked like they were about to cry as they watched Josh's face feeling you for the first time. Nothing could have been more special then being blessed to feel your babies baby. Love you Nana

Baby BOY!!!

I just can’t even believe it! A little boy is just what we wanted. I had a feeling you were a boy with all the kicking and moving you like to do. I said “it has to be a boy because they are some strong kicks!”. I don’t think I have ever been this happy in my life. The ultrasound tech asked us if we wanted to know and both of us said “OH YES! We have been waiting on this!!”. The second she said “you are having a sweet little baby boy”, my heart dropped. I immediately started crying and had the biggest smile. I looked over at your dad and I think he was still in shock! We had made a bet in the waiting room and your daddy bet girl, but I knew he really wanted you to be a boy! Either way, mommy won some money on that bet! I remember when we first found out we were pregnant we use to listen to this song…
 Anything like me- Brad Paisley
I remember saying I don't care either way
Just as long as he or she is healthy I'm ok
Then the doctor pointed to the corner of the screen
And said "You see that thing right there well you know what that means"

And I started wondering who he was going to be
And I thought heaven help us if he's anything like me
He'll probably climb a tree too tall and ride hes bike to fast
End up every summer wearing something in a cast
He's gonna throw a ball and break some glass in a window down the street
He's gonna get in trouble oh he's gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my payback if he's anything like me

I can see him right now knees all skinned up
With a magnifying glass trying to melt a Tonka truck
Won't he be a sight with his football helmet on
That'll be his first love til his first love comes along
He'll get his heart broke by the time he's in his teens
And heaven help him if he's anything like me

He'll probably stay out too late and drive his car too fast
Get a speeding ticket he'll pay for mowing grass
He's gonna get caught skipping class and be grounded for a week
He's gonna get in trouble we're gonna get in fights
I'm gonna lose my temper and some sleep
It's safe to say that I'm gonna get my payback if he's anything like me

He's gonna love me and hate me along the way
Years are gonna fly by I already dread the day
He's gonna hug his momma, he's gonna shake my hand
He's gonna act like he cant wait to leave
But as he drives out he'll cry his eyes out
If he's anything like me there's worse folks to be like
Aw he'll be alright if he's anything like me

I use to cry every time we heard the song come and we would talk about how if it was a boy then they were going to be just like their dad. You have the best dad in the world and I know that even though we may be in for some trouble along the way, when you grow up you are going to be one amazing man. We are so happy! I can’t wait to do some real shopping now! You may be one of the most spoiled little boys around. We love you with all our hearts!

Welcome to Colorado!

I got to feel you kick for the first time!!
You took your first plane ride out to Colorado last night for your second cousins wedding. I was surprised at how big you have grown since the last time I've seen you! Your mommy wanted to wake you up so that I could feel you, so she drank some juice to get you going. And you started kicking like crazy. I'm convinced that you really like me already because your mommy said you don't normally kick that many times in a row! You must know a good person when you feel it.
Nana and Papa got to feel you too! Papa just did for the first time this morning... his response "WOOOOOOOOOWWWW! AWESOME!" he's so excited, he was even looking for baby books yesterday at the airport. You're going to be spoiled rotten.
I love you!!

Mema and Pop Pop Loves you

Hi Little One,
We are so excited about you! We love you already and we know how much your Mommy and Daddy love you as well. Savannah has shown us the love of grandchildren and is paving the way for you. We are getting quite a collection of baby things and toys at our house that you can play with when you come. As soon as I find out if you are a boy or girl then I can buy some more things for you. I want to buy a baby monitor for your room because they are so nice to be able to see what you are doing when Mommy and Daddy are not in your room. We will love to come and visit you and want you to come and visit us. Our family and friends here are excited about you also because they know and love your Mom and Dad. July will be a special month because of your birthday and your cousin Savannah's birthday.
Love Mema and Pop-Pop

Happy V Day Little One

Hey baby,
It's your father here. I can't wait to meet you or even just find out whether your a boy or a girl. Your are already one of the most important things in my life and your not even born yet. Your mother and I love you soo much and we tell you that every night. We are counting down the days until we get to see your little face. Happy Valentines Day!

Love,
Dad

My Tiny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day baby! This day has become even more special to me because this year I have one more tiny Valentine. The more I feel you moving around the more real it all becomes. Your tiny little kicks let me know that there really is a baby in there! So just keep on kicking me because I like knowing you're there.

Appointment update!

We had an appointment today. Everything is looking good with you peanut. We really were hoping to find out if you are a little peanut boy or girl… but it looks like we will have to wait until February 23rd! I know it’s only another 12 days, but 12 days seems like forever. Hopefully we will have so much going on these next couple of weeks that time will go by fast. Next Friday we leave for Colorado. The doctors told me that I have to walk up and down the aisle on the airplane and your mommy hates the thought of walking around on the plane. We also got to hear your little heart beating today. It’s always so exciting to hear the sound of your heart beating. Last time your heart rate was in the 160’s, but this time it was in the 150’s. After the appointment we went out to lunch at this burger place. I normally don’t eat burgers… but I ate the whole thing with fires! Probably not the best thing for me to eat, but today you liked it! We can’t wait for our next ultrasound! Hope the time goes by fast.

week 17 rap!

Its week seventeen,
do you know what that means?
You’re about the size of a palm,
and you’re still pretty clam.
You’ve been hearing mama talks
her and daddy have been taking you some walks.
tonight you’ll meet riley
i’m sure you’ll think very highly,
of her.
she’s got the softest fur.
she will love you like her own
hopefully she wont mistake you for a bone.
I cant wait to find out if your a girl or a boy
then i can buy you things other than a unisex toy.

The Bump!

The baby bump is here! I took this picture at 16 weeks. I need to start taking pictures every week, because every week I get a little bigger! I made daddy go the mall with me this weekend to buy some new clothes. You are just growing so much that I cant seem to fit into anything anymore. I also had to buy a dress for Mary's wedding in Colorado. I am worried that the dress I bought might not fit in two weeks! I guess we will find out...

Baby meet Riley

Today is the beginning of week 17, I can't believe we are already this far. Every Tuesday I get an email from WhatToExpect.com with updates on baby developments for the week. This week was all about getting you use to loud sounds. Daddy thinks that its time for us to introduce you to Riley! I am sure when daddy gets home from work tonight he will be busy trying to get Riley to speak to you. I still find is amazing that you can hear us. I walk around the house all day and have conversations with you. I tell you everything that comes to mind and at night daddy reads to you. Our next OB appointment is this Friday and our 18 week ultrasound should be scheduled soon! We can't wait to find out who we have been talking to in there!
